Our solution suits for small and large network infrastructures, also with heterogeneous architecture. It is the ideal solution for access networks cabinet monitoring and control. This platform allows customization to satisfy your needs. Compas can be easily integrated in your management system. It supports a broad range of standard communication protocols and does not require any proprietary application.

The Compas data gathering unit exists in multiple executions:

  • A standalone 1U high chassis for larger energy systems or as a power independent solution, e.g. Shelters and buildings   (UCC)

  • Embedded in DC energy systems or power shelves to reduce costs and space

All executions are powered by the dc system and thus taking the benefit of the power reliability (24v, 48v, 110v…).

Alpha introduced Compas in 2007, as a new platform to manage energy and infrastructure.  The major characteristics of this platform are fundamental to understand in their contribution to our customer processes:

  • The platform is fully open. It means neither proprietary protocol, nor specific applications are required to monitor or control a node.  

  • The platform is compliant with the ETSI ES 202 336 “Environmental engineering (EE); Monitoring and Control Interface for Infrastructure Equipment (Power, Cooling and Building Environment Systems used in Telecommunication Networks)”. Alpha Innovations, member of the ETSI, actively cooperated with the EE committee to publication of the standard and continue to do so with the future appendices.  It means that by choosing Compas our customers will not be confronted with problems of vendor interoperability in the future or locked in future possible evolution because of today’s decision. Alpha Innovations aims to differentiate itself now and in the future by working closely with its customers on how to integrate their specific demands into the standard platform.

  • The platform is highly scalable. Needs evolve and new functions might be desirable at any time during the life cycle. To enable customers to implement solutions to those needs, Alpha Innovations has made the decision to work with CAN open as internal communication protocol.  

  • The platform is designed around standard high volume data processing technologies used in mass production of portable devices. The benefit of this choice is twofold. First it allows to take benefit of the evolutions designed for other applications and to avoid the rapid obsolescence of components inherent to specific data processing devices. Second the re-use of such standard technologies adapted to the specific environment enable the offer of competitive pricing in regard to the functionalities.

  • The platform is designed to ease its integration in a higher level network management system. XML and SNMP MIB files are embedded in each node. They can be easily retrieved, copied and pasted into the application.

Central Energy Converter

The  CEC4L350WGAC  is  part  of  Alpha Innovations solution  for  remote  powering  of  telecommunication equipment located in remote sites. It is intended for use on the telecommunication centre side, or in a street cabinet.

The  CEC4L350WGA  is  derived  from  the  CEC4L320  that includes  four  fully  independent,  fully isolated DC/DC up converters, each feeding one Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) copper pair with 350  VDC.  The  output  current  per  converter  is  limited  under  60  mA,  to  comply  with  the relevant standards (IEC60950-21).

Each converter (or its subrack) includes detections for defectives POTS and POTS not connected to a Remote Site. In this case, the feeding voltage is reduced below 50 VDC (protection mode).
