Dual Pointer 4:1 Compound Pointer Pressure Gauge Systems
Crown Oilfield Instrumentation’s Compound Pressure Gauge systems are designed to provide a quick, accurate display of pump pressure. Dual dial is often used in pay formations where the pressures in these processes range from high to low, depending on how the formation is being treated. Main applications are for hydrostatic testing, down hole cementing operations and high pressure fracturing. These gauges can also be used for checking pump pressures on service trucks, down hole acidizing stimulation situations, and fracturing operations. Because this gauge has two pointers: a 360 degree sweep dial makes one full rotation while the 4:1 Vernier needle makes 4 full rotations, even the smallest pressure changes can be seen. The dampener assembly located on the top of the gauge, dampens vibrations and reduces pointer bounce so that pointers move in steady, even actions.
The compound dual pointer pressure gauge comes equipped with two pointers and a dial that displays readings in two different PSI increments. For example, the black inner dial indicates PSI, and the yellow pointer indicates 1, 2, 3 or 4 thousand PSI. One complete sweep of the yellow pointer indicates 4000 PSI. The outer white dial indicates PSI as well; however, the max capacity is divisable by a factor of 4, and will be in 8,000, 12,000, or 16,000 PSI, depending on the application's max capacity
Standpipe Pressure Gauges & Unitized Pressure Gauges
Crown Oilfield Instrumentation offers Standpipe Pressure Gauges & Unitized Pressure Gauges (UMG) that come standard with a 2″ male NPT, 2” 1502 hammer union type, flanged type and threaded. These mud pump pressure gauges (also known as Standpipe Manifold Gauges) are easily view-able at distances and provide the same reliability as our standard 6” gauges. Just like reading a large clock at a distance, Crown UMGs offer provide an easy-to-view, full-faced, liquid-filled dial, unlike a Type F or D that only has a half-moon shaped dial. With built in dampener assembly and blow-out plug safety feature, these gauges stand up to over-pressure situations, kicks, and rig vibrations. This style of gauge is ideal for mud pumps, stand pipes, choke manifolds and pump trucks and can be used in cementing, fracturing, and acidizing gravel-packing trucks, blowout preventers, and mud pump pressure gauge applications.

- Tong Torque & Tong Line Pull
Crown's tong torque and tong line pull gauges (CTT100 Series) are designed to indicate make-up or break-out torque for tool joints, drill collars, joint torque systems, and drill string components, measuring in pounds of line pull. This system is used in applications where there are two or more sets of tongs being used with differing handle lengths. A 6” fluid-filled gauge reads the pounds of line pull from the tong handle. As the joints are made-up, the line pull is converted to hydraulic pressure within the cylinder, and sent to the gauge through the rubber hose. The gauge can then display this reading in measurements of line pull. The torque being applied can be determined by multiplying the gauge reading by the foot length of the tong handle. A large variety of systems (with up to 30,000 pounds of single line pull) are available in English, Metric, or dual scale systems.

Crown Oilfield Instrumentation’s Hydraulic Rotary Torque System (Hydromech) is designed for rigs with chain driven rotary tables. The system is designed to display rotary torque to alert users of changes in the drilling parameters to help avoid twist offs. Crown Hydromech Rotary Torque Systems helps to indicate hole conditions and torque patterns, providing the driller with when it’s time to change the bit. Capacities available are 500 and 1000 points (relative torque indication). Crown hydraulic rotary torque gauges offer accurate pressure readings in the harshest drilling rig conditions.
Crown Rotary Torque Hydro-Mechs are fabricated and engineered from plate steel in the same way that other important rig components are made, including deadline anchors and rotary tables. We build our hydromechs in this way because we feel that this is the strongest, most durable way to build such an important drilling component. Our hydromechs are solid plate steel and not layered welds or sand-casted, such as other products on the market By using layered welds or sand casting, the instances of occlusions and/or air bubbles in the metal can increase, causing metal failure. When the metal fails in a hydromech, costly damage can result to the rotary chair and rotary drive system. Crown’s hydromech has been engineered to be 3 times stronger than the competition. Because we make our products in house, our prices are highly competitive. Stronger products and better prices provide cost savings and reduce downtime.

Mud Pressure Separators and Isolators keep drilling mud and debris from damaging a pressure gauge’s costly internal parts all the while assisting in providing accurate pressure readings. These simple but effective devices ensure that gauges and recorders will stand up to the harshest rig conditions. Crown’s mud pressure piston separator handles working pressures up to 15,000 psi that are delivered though a one-fourth inch hydraulic hose. Crown’s 1:1 piston isolator uses not only a piston but also a rubber diaphragm to keep well-fluids, such as cement, acid, and mud, from mud gauges or chart recorders, providing double the protection from these harsh fluids.
Piston Separators
A mud pressure piston separator is a device that displays the pressure of well fluid to a remote gauge or recording device. Our 1:1 piston separators are designed to hold well fluids out of a pressure system’s internal parts and offer additional protection by using both a rubber diaphragm and a piston to separate the well fluid from the mud gauge or recorder.
Pressure Deboosters
Crown pressure deboosters (CWDB4X) are built to be long lasting, dependable, and extremely accurate. Our pressure deboosters are designed and manufactured in the U.S. and are built with highest quality materials to ensure durability and reliability. Reducing line pressure by a ratio of 4 to 1, our deboosters ensure that accurate measurements are safely sent to a pressure gauge to be read by an operator. Our deboosters are designed to work in the harshest fracturing, cementing, and testing operations and are available in a variety of models to suit your needs.

Hydraulic Instrument Fluid
Fluid Products
On a drilling rig, gauges require two kinds of hydraulic instrument fluid: red and clear. Clear fluid (our CW8) improves gauge life by assisting in reducing rig vibrations and corrosion from harsh industry conditions. Red fluid, also known as red hydraulic fluid (CW-15), is used in pressure, torque and weight systems to transmit readings between a gauge and its sensor. Having the right amount of red and clear fluid is essential to keeping drilling rig instrumentation running efficiently. Crown offers both red and clear drilling rig instrument fluid in both quart and gallon sizes. Our fluid is made of the highest grade materials so that you can rest assured that your gauges and sensors will be protected.
