RPM Portable Valve Gearboxes for underground valves

Scapin’s brand new RPM Portable valve gearboxes for valve operators are specifically conceived and designed to perform easy and fast opening/closing of underground water valves, both manually or coupled with our APB/APS portable valve actuators.

RPM tools are the ultimate devices for operating on underground valves not equipped with a reduction gearbox and usually moved using a T-Key, valves that require Nm/Ft lb values higher than manual work of one single operator, or when a valve requires a high number of turns to be fully open or closed.

Thanks to their light weight, RPM tools can be easily transported and mounted on intervention site. Locking system of pedestal avoids ‘snatch’ rotation of RPM device while operating and prevents risks of injury to operators.

RPM devices available are RPM100N (reduction ratio 1:1) for operating on underground valves up to 100Nm / 73,76 Ft lb, and RPM300N (reduction ratio 4,5:1) for moving valves up to 300Nm / 221,27 Ft lb.

Each RPM device is composed of two different parts: the Basic Pedestal (a portable tripod of 600mm / 23,62'' height provided with fixing brackets and sleeve anchors) and the Gearbox set. This one is furnished inside a handy plastic case and contains gearbox reducer, telescopic shaft and all remaining articles for mounting RPM device. A set of accessories that includes extensions for shaft and pedestal, adaptors and bushings (visit Bushings on Portable Actuators section) are available to allow installation and usage of RPM tools on sites of several sizes and shapes.

RPM devices guarantee high performances when used coupled with an APS portable valve actuator, allowing to open/close underground valves up to 300N / 221,27 Ft lb in less time than manual movement of one (or more) operator, and with no physical effort required.

F.lli Scapin Sluice gates and Valves

The sluice gates, of various types, have the function of regulating the water flow or serving as security devices on channels, penstocks or hydraulic systems.

Made in iron or stainless steel, they have a neoprene rubber seal musical-note shaped or plates of various sizes.

Sliding sluice gate occurs by mere gliding or by moving on wheels made of self-lubricating material.

These gates may be manually operated via hand-wheel, pulleys and reduction gears, electric actuator or hydraulic installation, or electro-hydraulically commanded with quick lock-up, as is the case with security sluice gates.

 

F.lli Scapin Grid cleaning installations

An interception hydraulic system is completed by an automatic grid-cleaning structure, i.e. a sort of comb system with the function of keeping the main water inlet clean so that it can be used as source of power for the plant.

This electromechanical device, either fixed or mobile, is operated by hydraulic cylinders that move a comb against a grid, then shifting the rubbish onto a conveyor belt and subsequently to recovery tanks.

This system can also be combined with a barrel filter to ensure cleaner water to the central plant.

Penstocks

A guaranteed high-performance investment is represented by penstocks, which allow a significant saving of water, a better yield of crops as well as the absence of pollution.

From output collectors to the special units for water installations, all products are built in hot dip-galvanized steel and can be coated with a bituminous sheath, coupled to flanges, female cup heads and calibrated heads for buried pipelines.

They are built with diameters up to DN1200 and beyond, with automatic and certified welding processes, hence quality and reliability of the finished product is guaranteed.

Steelworks

One of F.lli Scapin’s strong points is definitely represented by steelworks, with a department equipped to cope with any level of machining, from light to medium-heavy.
