High Temperature Thermocouples
Thermocouple assemblies are available with an exposed junction for quick response time, an enclosed insulated junction for exhaust gas environments and replaceable element probes with a separate protective body and gas sampling ports. Rugged construction assures low life cycle cost and high reliability. They may be designed for averaging or individual multiple depth sensing. Characteristics include standard thermocouple alloy stud and nut output terminals and hermetically sealed connector or flexible leads. They are available in standard or custom thermocouple configurations and calibrations.
Associated high-temperature cable and connector designs are capable of operating up to 2000°F with consistent results. Our conductors are available in thermocouple alloys, nickel-plated copper alloy, optical fibers, or in any combination of these materials. Insulation materials are non-asbestos and perform in extreme temperatures. Outer metallic braids of stainless steel, nickel, or inconel can be applied to cables for enhanced abrasion protection.

Integrated Thermocouple/Cable Assembly
The Integrated Thermocouple-Cable Assembly design features an overmolded transition at the cable to probe interface providing a moisture-proof seal to the probe. Coupled with the overmolded connector, the entire cable assembly is waterproof.

EGT Probes
HARCO hermetically sealed exhaust gas temperature (EGT) probes have demonstrated consistent, trouble-free performance in installations around the globe. In typical applications, multiple EGT probes are connected to a single, flexible cable assembly. This provides the ability to easily replace individual probes—a distinct maintenance advantage over rigid thermocouple harnesses.

Immersion Probes
HARCO's family of immersion probes are typically used for total temperature, stagnation, and direct reading applications. Temperature and/or pressure sensing can be incorporated in the same housing. Immersion probes provide specific or averaging of temperatures at multiple immersion depths with resistance balancing for true electrical average.

Airframe Cables
Custom-designed airframe cables feature rubber-molded connector and repairable backshells. HARCO typically designs its own backshell hardware to be compatible with the application. The design allows for repair of the connector without the need to remove cable seals. The entire operation is user-friendly requiring no special tools, equipment, or power at the point of repair.

Off-Engine Electrical Cables
HARCO's off-engine cable assemblies are ideal for ground-based gas turbine applications. We utilize stainless steel connectors over-molded to cable transitions, resulting in a robust design to meet gas turbine environmental requirements. Case Study
Client: Argo Tech
Challenge:
To develop and manufacture custom wire harnesses that must withstand direct fuel immersion in a military application.
Solution:
Harco created a proposal, design concept and product prototypes that met Argo Tech's installation and performance requirements within the first week after contract award. Harco's knowledge of materials enabled the prompt selection of fluoroelastomer harnessing components and adhesives. These material selections, coupled with the implementation of new manufacturing processes at Harco, provided the ability to meet the customers design criteria of the application.
Results:
On-time delivery of the product leading to the customer's success in their initial qualification efforts on their Solenoid Fuel Cable and follow up business on a related program with similar requirements.

We have the expertise to design, develop and manufacture components or a total air data system, providing the benefit of streamlining the process of component integration for our customers. Total Air Temperature Sensors
HARCO is a proven supplier of total air temperature (TAT) sensors that enable computation of static air temperature and true airspeed. Our sensors are currently being used on U.S. military aircraft, as well as numerous derivative models. In addition to our wide range of in-stock sensors, we can customize features such as the mounting flange and connector, depending on your specific application. HARCO is one of only a few companies that can produce TAT technology sensors.

Pitot Probes
HARCO offers pitot, pitot static and pitot/angle-of-attack probes to help you design the air data system meeting your configuration and performance needs. We've applied out patented SIMx™ material to the pitot de-icing heaters, which has the benefit of extending the operational lifetime of this assembly. In addition, special hydrophobic coatings are applied to the surface to enhance its performance in icing conditions. The use of light weight materials is made possible by proprietary forming techniques for the joining of dissimilar metallic product components. Probes may be configured as stand alone with pneumatic outputs to the Air Data Computer, or they may integrate the computing function and eliminate the pneumatic connection.

Static Ports
Use of our Dual Static Ports reduces the number of components required on the aircraft to meet RVSM requirements. They provide a Dual Cross-Connected Static Source which provides a cost effective light weight solution with built in redundancy. The Dual Static Ports utilize an innovative application of solid state electronics to deliver heat for de-icing surfaces and extending the reliability and operational lifetime of the unit. HARCO has tested its static ports in an icing wind tunnel to prove compliance with the TSO-C16a and BS2G.

Air Data Computers
HARCO's air data computers compute a variety of functions such as Static Pressure, Total Pressure, Calibrated Airspeed, Mach, SAT, TAS, Altitude Rate, Airspeed Rate, and Pressure Ratio - any air data function can be added. In some unique applications, equivalent airspeed is calculated instead of calibrated airspeed. Harco manufactures three versions of Outside Air Temperature Sensors (OAT). The OAT Sensors are designed and fabricated to stringent standards utilizing integrated 3D modeling, comprehensive in-house aerodynamic test and evaluation facilities, and specialized manufacturing processes that include customized fine wire winding of sensing elements. OATs are a cost effective replacement for Total Air Temperature (TAT) sensors.

Air Flow Sensors
