ITT Barton Floco_Flotrac PD Meters

ITT BARTON® Floco® and Flotrac® meters are designed for raw crude oil productions. The Floco F Series meter has proven itself to be a versatile unit that performs in a broad range of high viscosity fluids. The products of ITT Barton are ideal for use with oils and grease, paints and coatings and even paraffin. The Floco meter can also be used to drive a proportional sampler to provide volume as well as product quality data. The Flotrac meter is a extremly durable unit that provides accurate, high-pressure measurement of low viscosity liquids.

The Flotrac Meter is designed for mechanically measuring volumes of low-viscosity liquids flowing at high pressure. It employs the unique “constrained vortex” principle to provide an accurate measurement over a 10:1 range. The special configuration of the metering chamber forces streams into a series of vortices, causing the rotor assembly to rotate in direct proportion to the flow rate. The two liquid streams are then combined at the meter outlet port.
The Floco Series F Meter of ITT Barton is a positive displacement meter with a unique rotor design that provides sustained accuracy even under the most extreme conditions.
It measures viscous, waxy, corrosive and abrasive liquids to within ±1% maximum accuracy. The Series F Meter measures liquid by separating it into equal portions and counting them.
Liquid enters the meter through the inlet port, where the bridge deflects the liquid downward to strike the rotor blades and turn the rotor. The liquid then passes through the outlet port,
which is aligned with the inlet port. The unique rotor design allows solid particles and sediment to pass through the meter without causing damage or malfunction.
Bridge seals prevent the liquid from passing to the outlet port without being measured. ITT Barton Floco meters are unique in there kind and have the best performance money can buy.

ITT Barton Model 199

The Barton Model 199 Differential Pressure Unit (DPU) is a mechanical device which accurately measures differential pressure relative to a gas or liquid flowing through a process system, or to the level of a liquid contained in a process vessel. For process flow measurements, the DPU of the Barton model 199 is connected across a primary device (a venturi, an orifice plate or a flow tube) located in the process system. For liquid level measurements, the DPU may be connected in a variety of ways to measure the difference in pressure caused by variations in the level of the liquid in the process vessel.

The Barton Model 199 DPU is a dual bellows assembly enclosed within pressure housings. The dual bellows assembly consists of two opposing internally connected liq-Venting uid-filled bellows, a center plate, Connection range springs, overrange valves, Torque Tube and a torque tube assembly. Shaft The pressure housings are connected by Pipe or tubing to the primary device located in the sys-Mounting tem piping. Variations in differen-Bracket tial pressure within the pressure housings cause the bellows to expand or contract in a linear direction towards the side having the lowest pressure. The linear movement of the bellows is converted into angular rotation when transmitted to the torque tube shaft by the drive arm and this mechanical motion actuates the mechanism of the process monitoring instrument. The process monitoring instrument that is connected to the torque tube assembly may be an indicator, a switch, a transmitter, a recorder, or other process control device.

ITT Barton Model 200

BARTON model 200 differential pressure indicators are available for a variety of safe working pressures and differential pressure ranges. The Barton model 200 are widely used for the measurement of differential pressure, flow rate and liquid level applications.

Features

• BARTON differential pressure unit (DPU) sensor
• NEMA-4/IP65 cases
• Wide selection of differential pressure ranges
• Pulsation dampening

Indicating Mechanism
• The indicating pointer traverses a 270-degree arc, providing excellent readability. It is driven by a precision-jeweled rotary movement that multiplies rotation of the torque tube through a gear and pinion to the pointer. The movement employs a thermally stable Ni-Span-C hair spring.
• The movement has a micrometer screw for convenient range adjustments. Zero/range adjustments can be made without removing the scale plate or pointer. Linearity adjustments are readily accessible after removal of the scale plate.

Scales
• All indicating scales can be graduated uniformly for measurement of differential pressure, liquid level or square root for direct reading of flow rate. Special scales can be furnished for indicating liquid level in horizontal or non-uniform tanks. Scales are available in
black with white lettering (standard) and in white with black lettering (optional).

Cases
• BARTON indicators are available in 6” (152 mm) dial size. The standard case is die-cast aluminum with a special baked epoxy black finish, which is NEMA-4/IP65 rated. An optional
“S” version 316 stainless steel case is available for offshore/corrosive environments.

Actuating Units
• The indicator is actuated by a rupture-proof bellows DPU with integral temperature compensation.
• The M199 DPU features dual, liquid-filled bellows designed to withstand repeated overranges equal to the safe working pressure of the housings without a change in calibration.

ITT Barton Model 224

The Barton Model 224/224C Differential Pressure Unit (DPU) is a mechanical device that measures differential pressure relative to a gas or liquid flowing through a process system, or to the level of a liquid contained in a process vessel. For process flow measurements, the DPU is connected across a primary device (e.g., venturi, orifice plate, or flow tube) located in the process system. For liquid level measurements, the DPU may be connected in a variety of ways to measure the difference in pressure caused by variations in the level of the liquid in the process vessel.

Specifications
The Barton Model 224/224C DPU is available in various pressure ratings to measure to specific ranges between 0-30 inches of water column and 0-1000 psi, with safe working pressure (SWP) ratings from 500 to 10,000 psi (224 Non-C limited to 500 to 3,000 psi SWP). See Table 1-1, page 4. The 224C Bellows Unit Assembly (BUA) is produced in three bellows sizes: 1- 5/8 inch, 5/8 inch, and 3/4 inch diameter. The 1-5/8 inch diameter BUA accommodates differential pressures to 55 psi. The range springs of this BUA are contained within the bellows and do not come in contact with the measured liquid. The 3/4 inch BUA accommodates differential pressures up to 400 psi and the 5/8 inch BUA up to 1,000 psi. The range springs of these BUAs are grouped around the outside of the bellows.

Product Description
The Barton Model 224/224C DPU is a dual bellows assembly enclosed within pressure housings. The dual bellows assembly consists of two opposing internally connected liquid-filled bellows, a center-block, range springs, overrange valves, and a torque tube assembly. The pressure housings are connected by pipe or tubing to the primary device located in the system piping. Variations in differential pressure within the pressure housings cause the bellows to expand or contract in a linear direction towards the side having the lowest pressure.

ITT Barton Model 247

The Barton Model 247 bellows within the DPU move in response to changes in the differential pressure measured at the primary device installed in the process system. Movement of the bellows of the Barton model 247 is mechanically transferred to the indicator mechanism which in turn positions the indicator pointer.

The DPU torque tube shaft of the Barton Model 247 is connected to the drive arm of the indicator mechanism. The torque tube shaft rotates in response to DPU bellows movement and this rotation is mechanically transmitted through the drive arm and associated mechanism to position the pointer on the scale to the indication relative to the differential pressure measured by the DPU.

Changes in pressure within the Differential Pressure Unit pressure housings cause the DPU bellows of the Barton model 247 to move in the direction of the decreasing pressure. Movement of the bellows of de Barton 247 model is transferred to the DPU torque tuube output shaft. The Torque tube shaft is the mechanical output of the DPU which is attached to the back of the indicator case. The torque tube shaft is connected to the indicator mechanism.

ITT Barton Model 288A, 288C and 290D

Rotation of DPU torque tube shaft of the ITT Barton MODELS 288A/288C/290D is coupled through connecting linkage within the switch case to move the pointer across the scale plate. An actuating cam, directly connected to torque tube shaft, rotates with the motion of the shaft. Two cam follower roller/actuator arm assemblies, one for each switch, respond to torque tube rotation by opening and closing the switches as they ride on and off the cam. The levels of DP at which the switches actuate are adjustable with high and low alarm switch adjustments on the scale plate.

The weatherproof Models 288A, 288C, and the explosion-proof Model 290D of ITT Barton are DP Indicating Switches. The 288A and 288C have a NEMA-4 watertight die-cast aluminum case (finished with a weather-resistant black epoxy resin paint). The cover lens is secured in the bezel with an elastomer ring to reduce the possibility of accidental breakage. This ring also acts as a seal between the bezel and the case to ensure a moisture, fume and dust-free atmosphere for the indicator and switch mechanism. ITT Barton Model 290D has an explosion-proof case that is certified for Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C & D service. The large cover lens allows maximum readability of the indicating pointer.

ITT Barton MODELS 288A/288C/290D can have one or two alarm switches. Each switch can be connected to operate normally-opened or normally-closed. The direct-set switch contacts are adjustable over a scale range of 5-95% nominal.

ITT Barton Model 289A and 291B

ITT Barton Model 291B has an explosion-proof case that is certified for Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C & D service. The large cover lens allows maximum readability of the indicating pointer.

The Barton weatherproof Model 289A and the explosion-proof Model 291B are differential pressure indicating switches. The 289A has a NEMA-4 watertight die-cast aluminum case (finished with a weather-resistant black epoxy resin paint). The cover lens is secured in the bezel with an elastomer ring to reduce the possibility of accidental breakage. This ring also acts as a seal between the bezel and the case to ensure a moisture, fume and dust-free atmosphere for the indicator and switch mechanism.

Switches and all adjustments are readily accessible when the cover is removed. The built-in switches energize either single or dual alarm circuits when the measured differential pressures exceed predetermined limits. These limits may be either maximum, minimum, or both.

All ITT Barton 274A, 335A, 335P, 335T and 338E models are designed to meet the most stringent and demanding requirements for Oil & Gas Production, U.S. Navy Shipboard, and Process Plant applications.

The heart of the DP-driven instruments is the rugged ITT Barton Differential Pressure Unit (DPU) – featuring a time-proven liquid-filled bellows and torque tube design. Recording
and Controlling models are also available with Pressure or Temperature actuators.

Pneumatic Transmitters (Standard DP and Linear-with-Flow)
• ITT Barton Models 274A – DP Transmitters
• Actuated by Barton’s M199
• Rugged, Weatherproof, Non-corrosive Case
• Continuous Purging (pilot valve and nozzle exhaust inside)
• Operation Span Continuously Adjustable (100 – 20%)
• Adjustable Suppression (up to 80% of range)
• Large Valve Relays (no need for secondary booster)
• Span Continuously Adjustable (down to 20% of range)
• Air Consumption (at balance condition) 0.05 scfm max.

Transmitting Unit:
Changes in DP are transmitted mechanically to the flapper, which covers a small constant-feed nozzle. Any change in the position of the flapper will instantly change the nozzle pressure, which in turn controls the action of the 2-valve balanced relay to increase or decrease the output air pressure. A calibrated bellows assembly actuated by the output pressure serves to reposition the flapper mechanism and restore a state of equilibrium – in this manner, output air pressure varies in direct relation to the differential pressure applied to the instrument, or in direct proportion to the flow-rate. The relay is not affected by changes in output pressure and this makes it possible to maintain practically constant nozzle pressure at any output pressure.

Operating Span/Suppression (Linear-with-DP units only)
The operating span is continuously adjustable from 100- 20% of the DP range. Thus a unit with a differential pressure range of 0-100″ w.c. can be adjusted to provide a 3-15 PSI (207 mbar-1 bar) output signal (direct or reverse) for any span from 0-20″ w.c. to 0-100″ w.c. (0-50 mbar to 0-248 mbar) range. The operating span can be shifted anywhere within the range of the differential pressure unit to introduce suppression up to 80% of the range.

Actuating Units:
Barton® Pneumatic Transmitters are actuated by the ITT Barton M199
Differential Pressure Unit (DPU) which is also available in a NACE certified version.

Cases available for ITT Barton model 274A, 335A, 335P, 335T and 338E:
Barton® Pneumatic Transmitters are housed in a rugged, weatherproof case especially suited for use in corrosive fume environments. Since the pilot valve and nozzle exhaust
inside the case, continuous purging is achieved.

ITT Barton Model 351, 352 and 353

The ITT Barton Model 351, 352 and 353 Liquid Level System provides accurate hydraulic transmission of a process medium for measuring the level of liquids contained in a process vessel. The self-contained system of the ITT Barton 351, 352 and 353 models is typically mounted outside the vessel. Floats, levers, pins, and other mechanical devices susceptible to contamination or wear are not required. Because the basic system is actuated by the process media, local indication is possible without external power. ITT Barton Liquid Level Sensors can be purchased as a component of a factorybuilt system, or as a part for a field-installed system. Ask for more information at contact@ittcontrols.com

For applications involving corrosive fluids or tank temperatures above 200°F (95°C), a dual-sensor configuration is recommended. For applications involving unusual fill requirements due to liquid volumes or high ambient temperatures, a Model 353 system is recommended. The ITT Barton Model 353 system can be designed with one or two sensors.

Sealed sensor systems can be designed in the following configurations:

• a single sensor system (ITT Barton Model 351)
• a dual-sensor system (ITT Barton Model 352)

ITT Barton Model 351 Liquid Level System
The Model 351 consists of a single reference sensor connected by capillary tubing to a ITT Barton Differential Pressure Unit (DPU). Hydraulic fluid is sealed inside the sensor and the capillary tubing, eliminating the need for additional piping.

ITT Barton Model 352 Liquid Level System
The Model 352 consists of two reference sensors connected by capillary tubing to a ITT Barton DPU.
