Fuses possess some unique features not offered by other protective devices. They interrupt short-circuit currents within a few milliseconds, faster than any other protective element and thus minimise the effects of the short circuit on all affected parts of the plant. The performance data of installed fuses cannot be changed, either deliberately or inadvertently, and mismatching or malfunctions are thus impossible.
 

Our product range encompasses all DIN systems, which are standardised worldwide, in accordance with the VDE 0636 and 0670 regulations and with the standards IEC/EN 60269 and 60282-1. A wide range of accessories, such as fuse-holders, fuse- carriers and fuse-bases rounds off the spectrum of products in this sector.
 

Application sectors

With more than 100 years of experience, we can offer current-limiting solutions with low power dissipation which far exceed the general requirements. Low power dissipation, high current limitation and resistance to ageing are the most important quality features of our fuses. Our fuses can handle operating voltages up to AC 36 kV and DC 5 kV.
 

The various utilization categories are matched to the objects to be protected: cables and wires, electric railways, electric motors, mining equipment, switchgear and transformers.

Semiconductor components and inverters are a major application sector for „super-fast“ fuses. For such objects, we offer characteristics and shapes matched to each specific application

Our current distribution components comprise fused low-voltage switchgear for currents up to 2000A. They can be adapted to busbar systems with centre spacings of 40, 50, 60, 100 and 185 mm.

The current distribution components comply with the VDE 0636 and 0660 regulations and with the standards IEC/EN 60269 and 60947.

Application sectors

Our current distribution components serve to supply electric power wherever subsidiary distributors in houses, buildings and factories or individual large consumers need to be supplied with electricity, protected against overloads and monitored.

Typical application areas are the public electricity supply systems from the transformer to the consumer inlet and distribution systems in industry, in factories and in large buildings such as hospitals, airports, railway stations and office centres. The latter, in particular, have an increasing demand for controlling with the aid of monitoring and energy management systems.

In the construction of switchgear and control systems, our distribution systems SASIL and C|O|S|M|O are setting new standards.

Jean Müller offers a comprehensive range of substation cable distribution boards in open or dead-front design and of fibreglass-reinforced polyester cabinets which, when suitably equipped, comply with VDE 0660/500 and the standard IEC/EN 60439.

Application sectors

Power distributors are so-called switchgear and controlgear assemblies. They serve to supply power to the outgoing cables and wires from a transformer station or to subsidiary distributors in supply networks.

Our product range also includes cabinets and boxes whose design and configuration can be adapted easily to meet the demands for consumer supply technology, which differ considerably from one country to another.

The product range „power distribution“ meets the requirements of electricity suppliers throughout the world with respect to solutions for public electricity supplies and the connection of the consumers to the public distribution network

Our system electronics „Powerlizer“ comprises a complete product range for the acquisition of measured values and the display, monitoring and evaluation of these values in power distribution systems for industry and electricity supply companies.

The system can be equipped with interfaces for the field bus systems Profibus DP/FMS and M-Bus and for Ethernet to permit the reliable transfer of all current and voltage data. The „Powerlizer“ system enables switchgear and controlgear to be remote-controlled.

Application sectors

All current distribution components and switchgear and controlgear can be upgraded with the aid of „Powerlizer“ to permit continuous (online) or periodic monitoring of all operating data and operating states. Modern energy management systems, which are being used to an ever-increasing degree, can thus monitor and control complex combinations of switchgear components with respect to their operating load and their reliability.

A modern, decentralised fault reporting concept allows warning messages or fault reports to be sent by SMS to a mobile telephone, by email to a PC or via a bus connection to the control centre in order to ensure rapid reaction and short downtimes.

The transfer and visualisation of the operating data with the aid of evaluation software provide a clear and transparent overview of the flow of power in the complete distribution system and are a prerequisite for reliable billing to cost centres
