These high quality products provide a maintenance free superb operation of vibration damping until the next planned major overhaul of the bogies. 

After this time, and depending on the configuration, the product can be replaced by a new mechanical damper, or be overhauled in a specialized workshop. 

The production line for these mechanical dampers makes use of the latest production technologies, which results in a high level of automation and the elimination of unnecessary handling. 

Due to the smart damper design and the efficient manufacturing process, we are able to offer these mechnical dampers at very attractive price levels. 

These sealed dampers are optimized to achieve the lowest possible initial purchase price without compromising the quality of the product

 

 

Koni- Enidine Rebuildable Dampers Suspension

 

The KONI Rebuildable Dampers are designed for at least 25 years of operation. These extremely robust products wear at a very slow rate and can easily be adjusted and reconditioned to as new conditions; giving the dampers a multiple life time. 
 

The circulating oil principle guarantees unmatched symmetrical damping forces and provides for an excellent heat transfer between damper and surrounding air, allowing them to operate at the most extreme conditions. 

The design is optimized to achieve the highest possible dependability while allowing the longest time between consecutive overhauls.

 

Koni- Enidine Rotary Hydraulic Shock Absorbers

The demand for improved ride quality and increased durability makes Enidine’s Rotary Shock Absorber (RSA) the perfect choice to control vertical andlateral motion in rail suspension applications. RSA’s are built to outlast and outperform linear type shock absorbers, offering the best ride quality available today.

The unique RSA is a vane type shock absorber. The fluid-filled opposing chambers are interconnected through a metering valve. Rotational force applied to the end of the wingshaft displaces the fluid from the high-pressure chamber to the opposing low-pressure chamber. This causes a resistance to relative motion and damping of the input force. The amount of damping torque is governed by angular velocity of the load applied to the shock absorber and by the valving settings.

Enidine Friction Snubbers are used primarily to control vertical and lateral motion on subway passenger cars
and locomotives, guarding against lading damage and providing increased ride quality. These mechanical type

A few examples are described below.

 

Electronically controlled

The electrically controlled yaw damper can be switched off and on, resulting in a smooth ride at low speeds on curvy tracks (valve open) and safe and steady ride at high speeds (valve closed). 

It relieves the engineers from accepting a compromise between comfort and safety. Moreover, the system provides inherent safe operation, even if the external power supply is down.

 

Continuous variable

With a conventional damper, the damping characteristic of a secondary horizontal railway shock absorber is always a compromise between the ability of this damper to isolate long wave vibrations, while at the same time filtering the high frequency shocks working on the passenger compartment. 
 

In other words; a compromise between stability and comfort. To damp this complete spectrum of vibrations, ideally the damper forces should be continuously adjusted to the exact level of damping required.

With our patented Continuously Variable Damping (CVD) system, KONI has developed a revolutionary system, which exactly does that!

Pentograph dampers

The relatively small sized pantograph damper has a position dependant performance characteristic. 

It is customized to control the pantograph in working position in contact to the catenary, as well as while lowering the pantograph to the roof.

  • Compact Wire Rope

​Use ITT Enidine Inc.'s Compact Wire Rope Isolators for the best performance in vibration isolation. The compact design is smaller than most wire ropes and can provide both shock and vibration absorption even in situations where package space and sway are an issue. 

Enidine Inc.'s Compact Wire Rope Isolator is made of all-metal, which gives the best multi-axis shock and vibration isolation. Even reliable in hostile environments, the WRI products have almost no maintenance and are highly resistant to oil, ozone, abrasives, and chemicals. Using WRI products can reduce the amount of premature equipment failure and costly machine downtime.
