In the past, most bimetal type temperature variable thermostat had a variable shaft extending out of the thermostat main body. This variable thermostat, however, is a new type of variable thermostat in that the thermostat main body is housed in a small case and the preset temperature can be continuously changed by changing the resistance value of the variable resistor(volume) which is remotely located

Principle of operation
For this thermostat, a resistor is built in the thermostat as a heat generator, and it is structured in such way that the electric current is changed by the external variable resistor, as if applying a bias to the operating temperature of the thermostat to achieve the objective. In other words, if the variable resistor is adjusted in a way to allow a high current, the thermostat operates before reaching the preset temperature, and if the variable resistor is adjusted in a way not to allow a current, the thermostat will operate at the preset temperature.
As a result, the range between the preset temperature and the operating temperature, by the variable resistor allowing maximum current, is the temperature variable range.
The temperature of the generated heat by the built in resistor determines the variable range. Because of such a design, this thermostat is provided with a lead wire for control, in addition to the standard lead wire, resulting a total of three wires.

Caution
This system will not work in an environment where the heat generated inside the case is taken away due to some external effect such as strong wind. Therefore, it is more effective in an application where the heat stays inside, such as a heating mat.
Because of the lead time required for experiments and custom manufacturing, it is not suited to a small lot production.

Matsuo​ Disk Type Thermostat

The disk type thermostat is the ultimate protector, which can cut off a heavy current without fail at a low cost. We believe that there is and will be no substitute for this thermostat for the time being.
On the other hand, the Diff. is large in the case of the disk type, and the preset temperature will change if the operation is repeated frequently. As a result, it cannot be used as a controller.

(Fixed-temperature bimetal type protector thermostat)

The disk type thermostat is the ultimate protector, which can cut off a heavy current without fail at a low cost. We believe that there will be no substitute for this thermostat for the time being.
On the other hand, the differential is large in the case of the disk type, and the preset temperature will change if the operation is repeated frequently.
As a result, it cannot be used as a controller.

Matsuo​ Thermal timer

Thermal timer (bimetal type dearly relay)

The thermal timer is a delay relay which has a delay time of on delay/off delay.
It operates within a range of 10~200 seconds, and it has an M contact (make contact) and B contact ( break contact).
(On delay time: Delay time after the heater carries the current)
(Off delay time: Delay time after the current to the heater is cut off)
Because bimetal is the principle of operation, it will naturally be influenced by the temperature change in summer or winter.

A bimetal for outside air temperature compensation is provided in order to minimize such influence.

Feature:
•Both delay time and off delay time setting can be made by one thermal timer.
•While auto reset is the standard, manual reset type can be made upon your request.
•Any voltage of AC and DC can be accommodated. (Max. 250V)
•Contact capacity is available in 3A, 6A and 10A.
•Because of out side air compensation bimetal, operational time is the same for summer and winter.
•Anti vibration and anti shock characteristics are superior compared to other types of timers.
