The corporation currently known as Nireco made its start when in 1931, a German enterprise Askania Werke AG established its Japanese corporation Askania. Five years later, in 1936, Askania reorganized to become a joint-stock corporation, at the same time redirecting its business activity from importing to domestic production of hydraulic-jet-pipe automatic control systems. Eventually, Askania was succeeded by Nihon Regulator, which, based on manufacturing experience and technological know-how gained during the 2nd World War, became a developer and manufacturer of process automation systems. Nihon Regulator made a name for itself as a pioneer in automatic control and was actively involved in industrial development in Japan. Since then, Nireco has come to embody the essential technology of control systems that are used by manufactures at each step of the process, from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of the finished product, to use resources more effectively, automate processes, save energy and standardize output ? all to help build today's international competitiveness.

Release of Space-Saving Ultrasonic Sensor
The Ultrasonic Sensor UH05 is an EPC (Edge Position Control) sensor developed for use with transparent film and photosensitive materials. Its installation in a space-saving space has become possible, which was difficult until now, and the designability has been improved so that it fits neatly into a compact machine. It can detect the edge of a web with high accuracy and is not affected by irregularities in the coating near the edge of transparent film and printed patterns. Conventional optical sensors cannot do this. The UH05 Ultrasonic Sensor can be combined with Nireco' s controller to configure an electrical EPC system or an electrohydraulic EPC system. The recess length of the UH05 (the distance from the detection center position to the inner side of the casing) is fixed at 30 mm.

The Photohead is the sensor of an EPC (Edge Position Control) system. It uses optical means to detect the edge of a strip (web).
The sensor signal is transmitted to an amplifier, and the amplified output signal is forwarded to a hydraulic jet pipe type controller or a servo valve, controlling the strip edge, so that it remains at the determined position.

The Sensing Nozzle pneumatically and continuously detects the displacement of a web edge without contacting the web. The air pressure for detection is sent to the diaphragm detecting element of the hydraulic controller or the pneumoelectric transducer.
The Sensing Nozzle (SN12) is designed for light industries such as paper, film and textiles. Low-pressure air is blown onto the web edge, therefore, blowing problems may be expected if web material is gauze or the tension is weak. In such a case, a guide bar is used to maintain a constant path line for the web. This sensing nozzle delivers the same performance as the SN15, in a smaller and more lightweight package. Use it in cramped areas where an SN15 won't fit.

This tension sensor has a high spring stiffness and therefore a high resonance frequency, which makes it ideal for high-speed lines. Wire Position Sensor
The FW80 analog position transmitter has two versions: a long-stroke type and an ultra-precision type. The position transmitter incorporates a precision potentiometer, and converts the linear motion of an object to be measured into electric resistance proportional to its position. A construction drawing of this device can be found in Fig. 8. A stainless steel wire is wound around a wire drum, which incorporates a spring. The shaft of the drum is connected to the shaft of the potentiometer via the synchro-belt pulley.
