OSAKI ELECTRIC CLUTCH AND BRAKE (OSAKI DENGYO SHA)
ESB series brakes. Spring actuated type

This brake is a spring actuated type which makes brake action on the interruption of coil excitation. When exciting the coil, the field attracts armature beyond the sprig force, then it makes the gap between inner-disc and outer-disc and brake becomes free. When to interrupt the coil exciting, the field releases armature by spring force, and the brake is actuated. Autmatic braking is made when the power supply is shut off.

As ESB has multipul discs, larger braking torque can be produced with its compacted body.

1.The insuration level of our standard coil is E class (120°C).
2.The initial braking torque on delivery is 50~60% of the rated value and it increases after preperatory operations.

NAB series brakes. Spring actuated type

Action

On exciting the coil. Armature is attracted to field beyond the spring force and makes a gap between inner-disc and outer-disc. Then the brake is released. Armature is released by interruption of coil current and pushes inner-disc and outer-disc to end plate by the spring force, then the brake is actuated by friction. This brake is closed any time when the coil is not excited.

Action

Exciting the coil, field attracts armature beyond spring force, and then the produced gap makes inner-disc free. When the power is shut off, armature is released and inner-disc produces braking torque with spring force.
