Princetel is a US manufacturer of Fiber Optic Rotary Joints (FORJs), slip rings and connectors. The company offers single-channel, dual-channel, and multiple-channel fiber optic rotary joints. All FORJ products have excellent insertion-loss and return-loss performances. Crosstalk is extremely low for multiple-channel FORJs.
Single-mode and multi-mode fibers are both standard choices. They can both be used in the same device for dual and multiple channel fiber optic rotary joints. Princetel also offers high-performance multiple-channel fiber optic connectors for both surface and underwater applications.
SINGLE-CHANNEL FIBER OPTIC ROTARY JOINTS
Single-channel fiber optic rotary joints are extremely rugged devices designed to handle environmental extremes such as low temperature of -40ºC, water emersion, high pressure and unusual vibration and impact. The 'R' series single-channel FORJs offer nine standard configurations including fiber pigtail, FC receptacle, and ST receptacle. The 'MJX' and the 'RFCX' series FORJs are the smallest available on the market, yet they provide similar optical and mechanical performances as the 'R' series. All single-channel FORJs are designed for wide-band (850nm to 1550nm) operation.
DUAL-CHANNEL FIBER OPTIC ROTARY JOINTS
Two-channel FORJs allow the passage of two independent optical signals simultaneously and yet maintain a high level of isolation between the channels. Princetel's proprietary design ensures competitive performance with small footprints. Select the 'RJ2' series FORJ if pressure compensation is necessary.
FOUR-CHANNEL FIBER OPTIC ROTARY JOINTS
Four independent channels of optical signals can pass through the four-channel FORJs with typical crosstalk greater than 60dB. Return loss is typically greater than 50dB for single-mode fiber. Though designed for specific spectrum ranges such as 1550nm, they also function well as far as 240nm away at 1310nm. Select the 'RJn' series FORJ if pressure compensation is necessary.
TEN-CHANNEL FIBER OPTIC ROTARY JOINTS
Ten independent channels of optical signals can pass through the 'RJn' series FORJs with typical crosstalk greater than 60dB. Like the 'MJn' series FORJs, return loss is typically greater than 50dB for single-mode fiber and they function well over +/250nm from the peak wavelength. Optional pressure compensation for underwater usage is available for this model.
INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL AND OPTICAL SLIP RINGS
Princetel offers integrating services for those who need both electrical and optical slip rings in the same unit. Princetel select suitable slip rings from trusted vendors and combine them with Princetel's FORJs. The company also offers multiple-channel fiber optic connectors in conjunction with multi-channel FORJs.
