Solution

The solution proposed by ProGlove is a glove with a computational unit attached to the back of the hand that fits perfectly into the industrial environment and can replace conventional barcode scanners. The scanner is integrated in the information processing unit, ie when pressed with the thumb and index finger, it can trigger the running scan function and release both hands. This helps to avoid additional hand movements that are needed to receive and download the browser, for example. ProGlove is more ergonomic than a scan device, less uncomfortable than a handheld scanner or other portable solution attached to the head and lighter than handheld scanners, weighing only 32 grams. It fits well with work clothes and is a more convenient device for workers to carry.

The solution is truly intuitive, and since the scanning function is integrated into the natural hand movement, the employee does not need to focus on the barcode. Optical (LED light), acoustic (acoustic) and tactile (vibration) signals inform the operator that the article is being scanned.

Application process

Using ProGlove in the repository does not require a large installation. The scanner module communicates with an access point connected to the system with a USB or a regular serial connector; no additional software is required.
