The best choice for holding/emergency applications

Our non-excitation (negative actuation) spring close electromagnetic brakes use a reliable multi-spring mechanism to apply braking force after power is cut off. The design of this redundant system offers very high reliability, making it ideally suited for as a holding brake or emergency stop brake.
The 3 standard series are: SBR, which is best suited to use in servomotors or robotics applications due to its ultra-thin, projection-free design, SBM, best used as an easily-mounted general-purpose motor, and SBS, which is versatile enough to suit every application

Features

SBR type Ultra-thin and projection-free Best integrated into servomotors, special small motors, robots, or FA machinery as a holding or stop brake.
Provides silent operation, free from metallic noise by eliminating metal from our disk structure.
SBM type Easily mounted and able to withstand heavy operation Easily mounted to general-purpose motors, abrasion resistant and dissipates heat efficiently.
Becomes a brake motor when mounted to a general-purpose motor.
SBS type Versatile and easy to use By using a multi-plate design, we are able to achieve high torque with a small diameter, making this suitable for breaking and emergency stops in many applications. Additionally, the static frictional torque can be varied by changing the number of disks.

Permanently closed clused / brake

The power of a permanent magnet

Instead of the usual spring, our non-excitation electromagnetic brakes utilize a strong permanent magnet, allowing us to offer high performance. In addition to incredibly fast response times, we are also able to create a forced stop after the brake is released, making this ideal for use as a safety or emergency brake. Furthermore, we have included the same automatic gap adjustment found in our "Warner" series, and a hassle-free design that does not require adjustment after assembly.

By utilizing a strong permanent magnet, we are able to achieve incredible response times.
2. Asbestos-free facing
An asbestos-free friction plate facing offers the safety you require while dramatically increasing abrasion resistance.
3. Ideally suited for emergency brakes
Our strong permanent magnet engages immediately after power is removed, allowing for exceptional safety.
4. High heat dissipation capability
Able to perform under heavy, high frequency cycling due to the large thermal radiation structure.
5. Gap adjustment is not required
Due to the inclusion of our unique auto gap mechanism, you will never have to make adjustments after assembly. (except models which use a leaf spring)
6. Zero backlash (applies to models which use a leaf spring)
Our leaf spring designs eliminate backlash in the direction of rotation.
