Technetics is a leader in designing and manufacturing engineered products for demanding aerospace environments. We specialize in sealing, pressure regulation, fluid conveyance, and noise control component solutions for high value, performance and safety-critical applications. Since the 1950s, we’ve been engineering aerospace components for a growing list of customers. Our decades of experience, thousands of installations, and millions of flight hours allow Technetics engineers to understand and solve some of the aerospace industry's most complex challenges. Our product expertise includes abradable seals, brush seals, face seals, circumferential seals, elastomer seals, static metal seals, acoustic media, burst discs, edge-welded metal bellows and accumulators. Technetics products are found on large and small commercial aircraft, regional and business jets, military aircraft, as well as on a large variety of unmanned aerial vehicles, spacecraft, satellites, targeting systems and missiles.
Technetics Sealing Solutions
Technetics Metal Seals
When proven engineering and unrivaled reliability matter, Technetics Group metal seals make a difference. Our unique metal seal sealing solutions deliver high performance even in the most challenging conditions. At Technetics Group, our metal seals are specifically designed to utilize the elements of force, fluid and pressure to assist in their solution of sealing.
ABOUT TECHNETICS GROUP METAL SEALS
Technetics Group metal seals come in an endless variety of options, although the majority are static seals—seals that function much like a gasket between two flanges that have little or no relative motion. Our metal seal sealing solutions, available ready-made and custom-engineered, are designed to maximize performance and optimizing the assembly.

Technetics Abradable Seals
Abradable seals, when applied to stationary engine parts, allow for the complete sealing of blade tips and interstage labyrinth seal knife edges through the full 360º arc of rotation, while minimizing or eliminating wear on the expensive rotating hardware. Also, by installing this rub tolerant material, engine operating clearance can be minimized with attendant maximization of engine efficiency.
FELTMETAL™ ABRADABLE SEALS
Brush seals work by absorbing radial deflections from the rotor during transient operations. The seal then follows the rotor back to the steady state operating position to maintain minimum leakage. Each metal seal’s brush pack is composed of thousands of finely packed wire bristles. The bristle material, a cobalt/nickel alloy, is chosen to provide an optimal combination of wear properties and oxidation resistance. The back plates and side plates are typically fabricated from stainless steel or nickel alloys and are chosen based on the case material to account for thermal expansion

Technetics Elastomer Seal and Inflatable Seal
Our elastomer molded seals, profiles and pneumatic inflatable seals are used where a custom sealing solution is required, such as when there can be variation during the assembly. These seals can remove the need for custom tooling for sealing profiles, which is particularly useful during an R&D phase when the final sealing shape is uncertain.
We incorporate a variety of materials to create our elastomer molded seals, profiles and inflatable seals including both rubber and additives, which can offer superior sealing, wear, thermal and mechanical performance. Technetics Group can also supply assemblies comprising of molded seals and other customer required elements, as well as cut gaskets from molded sheets

Technetics Graphite Pressure Seals
Unlike other seals, the graphite flexibility of ORIGRAF® graphite pressure seals can avoid the influence of surface defects, even in offloading conditions. Unlike flexible graphite cut gaskets, the compression of our ORIGRAF® die-formed seal is limited by a mechanical stop, such as a groove or inner or outer ring. The design prevents excessive seating stress on the seal during transients when assemblies are subject to extreme pressure or temperature.

Technetics Mechanical Seals
Since 1967, Technetics Group has designed and produced a wide range of mechanical seals, engineered for the most demanding and varied rotary shaft applications.
With trusted brands such as QUALISEAL®, GULLIVER® and CEFILAC GPA®, we deliver extended life and low leakage while accommodating a wide range of sizes, speeds, pressures and temperatures in both dry and wetted applications.

Technetics Spiral Wound Gaskets
Spiral wound gaskets consist of a formed metal strip wound with soft filler material. The soft filler forms the seal material, which is chosen to best eliminate leakage of pressure, temperature air or fluids for the application. The metal strip is then welded into the ends of the winding to maintain tension. Technetics Group also produces spiral-wound gaskets with mechanical characteristics controlled by the creation of a compression curve. These gaskets are referred to as “load certified.” Low seating load gaskets are also available upon request with VITAFLEX® BPA

Technetics Metal Bellows
Edge-welded metal bellows provide superior stroke capabilities and more precise spring rates than formed bellows, giving you greater flexibility and control in the smallest possible spaces. Because we manufacture our edge-welded metal bellows by welding both the inner and outer diameters of the bellow plates, we can produce them in a nearly endless variety of materials, unlimited by material ductility.

Technetics Acoustic Media
Technetics Group FELTMETAL™ Acoustic Media can be found in the crew cabins onboard the International Space Station (ISS), and before that, on Skylab. We help keep the aircraft cabin quiet within the environmental control systems (ECS), such as our application on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The extreme temperature performance of FELTMETAL™ allows it to operate in both inlet and outlet applications onboard Airbus and Boeing commercial aircraft Auxiliary Power Units (APU). It is an engineered, porous material made of sintered metal fibers. The size of the fiber, porosity and thickness of the fibers combine to control the desired flow and sound absorption. To enhance the structural properties, the metal fibers may be reinforced by sintering to screen mesh or perforated plate.
Technetics PEEK Shapes & Components
The unique properties of PEEK components make them ideal for challenging applications in numerous industries. Our PEEK components and shapes can be modified to achieve special properties to meet customer requirements.
