Intrinsically safe limit switch Type WIK
Application
Intrinsically safe limit switch WIK-1 (WIK-2) and its varieties are used to control the power supply of electric motors installed in the longwall drives of redler or belt conveyors and floor railways in case of emergency. The switch is adapted for use in methane-infested and non-infested mines, in areas with the a, b, c degree of explosion hazard and the A, B class of coal dust explosion hazard.
The principle of operation is based on action of the magnetic field of a magnet on a reed relay (WIK-1) or a magnetically-polarized contact (WIK-2) placed on the electronics board. Presence of the magnet in the place where the magnetic field acts on the reed relay or the contact makes the contact trip and a device switches to the protective mode. The correct operation can be signalled by an illuminated LED. In both versions of the switch it is possible to choose the contact type: normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO). In case of WIK-1 the contact type is determined in the production process (specify NO or NC in your purchase order). In the WIK-2 it is simply the matter of switching the magnet poles in the body.
