Rotation Speed Measurement
Revolution speed, an essential parameter of motors and other mechanical applications, is also measured by Manner Sensortelemetrie GmbH using non-contact technology. Down-stream evaluation units calculate the power flow online, thus enabling it to be recorded. In addition to classical analogue interfaces, it goes without saying that computer interfaces such as USB, CAN or TCP/IP are also available.
Manner’s robust, efficient and economical rotation speed measurement is conducted using two different measuring systems. The following technologies have established themselves for the non-contact and space saving measurement of these important rotation parameters:
- Rotation speed measurement using a toothed ring and separate rotation speed sensor. This must be aligned on the flange, in addition to the torque signal receiving antenna. The measured impulse count corresponds exactly to the number of teeth on the toothed ring which Manner has integrated into the flange.
- Revolution speed measurement using magnets within the flange. Here only a few impulses are measured per revolution. However, no separate revolution speed sensor is required as this can be integrated directly into the stator antenna.
