Elco
Elco manufactures and distributes electric motors for use in commercial refrigeration and also in heating, ventilation and air conditioning units, this segment is better known as "HVAC-R".
In 1998 ELCO presented its first electronic commuted motor or ECM, a high efficiency energy saving motor designed for the commercial refrigeration world. If compared to the traditional shaded pole motors or PSC, the efficiency of the ECM motor is definitely higher and can reduce the consumptions up to one-third. This range of motor promptly received the approval of a significant number of food retailers and OEMs, this thanks to the concrete possibility to reduce the energy costs and especially to the several economic benefits that can be generated in the long term. With over 4 million units sold worldwide, the market of these motors is expected to grow, expanding its use to the HVAC market sector.Strategically located with manufacturing facilities in Italy, Brazil and China, with sales offices in Russia, UAE, Singapore, Mexico and Columbia and thanks to a widespread presence in North America, Australia and South Africa granted by being part of the Regal Beloit Corporation, ELCO is selling in more than 80 Countries in the world even through a dense network of local agents and distributors.
Elco’s core business is dedicated to finding personalized solutions for OEM’s operating in the Refrigeration sector seeking for high quality motors. The wide range of alternatives are coupled with a range of accessories in plastic, steel or aluminum and grants the best performance for any kind of application and market. The products are VDE or UL/CSA approved and are manufactured close to our customers in our factories in Italy, China or Brazil. In 1998, the very first prototype of our Energy Saving (ECM) motor was presented, using Elco protected intellectual property – a highly efficient alternative to the traditional shaded pole motors. The standard applications for these motors are in Refrigerated Supermarket Counters, Refrigerated cells, ice cream/slush machines and small evaporating/condensating units.
1.) SHADED POLE
Powered from 2W to 34W for usage mainly in the commercial refrigeration market, they are produced in 3 different continents in order to face the diverse requirements of our clients and the highest possible customization possible.
2.) ECM
These units distinguish themselves from standard shaded pole series for the usage of a BLDC motor with integrated drivers – guaranteeing huge advantages, the most evident of which is the reduction in consumption, heat dissipation, life expectancy, IP66 upon request and a market in continuous expansion where in some cases has become the standard.
3.) ECM HC
This new and more compact Energy Saving motor is a true Innovation for the Refrigerating market and contains a series of advantages, especially for our most demanding OEM clients. This new series allows to Wirelessly program up to two separate Rpm speeds via RF, reversible speed possibility or continuous speed control 0-10Vdc.
4.) AXIAL FANS
A.) Asynchronous Axial Fans (CF) – The Elco range of Compact Axial Fans, widely used in Industrial Refrigeration and adapt for use particularly in Evaporating and Condensing units. The CF series ranges from 300mm to 400mm and comes with metal finger guards. Possibility of choosing also Plastic Fan blades for higher efficiency and noise reduction.
B.) EC Axial Fans (CFE) – The Elco range of Compact EC Axial Fans differ from the Asynchronous version for the usage of a BLDC motor with integrated drivers – guaranteeing the same performances but with significantly reduced consumptions. The CF series ranges from 300mm to 400mm and comes with metal finger guards.
1.) MOTORS
A.) Asynchronous Motors – These motors are designed according to our clients requirements, varying from 12W to 1,1kW and are generally used in Centrifugal Fan blowers for Fan Coils or ducted Air Conditioning units.
B.) EC Motors – Varying from 12W to 750W and designed according to our clients necessities, they are generally used in Centrifugal Fan blowers for Fan Coils or ducted Air Conditioning units. They differ from the Asynchronous version for the usage of a BLDC motor with integrated drivers – guaranteeing the same performances but with significantly reduced consumptions.
2.) CENTRIFUGAL FANS
A.) DIRECT DRIVEN (DD) MOTORS
A.1.) DD AC – Widely used in air conditioning and air handling units. A complete range of units are available from 7/7 through to 12/12. Mounting feet, bolts and rubber vibration dampers are also available as optional.
A.2.) DD EC - Widely used in air conditioning and air handling units. A complete range of DDE units are available from 9/7 through to 12/12. Mounting feet, bolts and rubber vibration dampers are all included. They differ from the Asynchronous version for the usage of a BLDC motor with integrated drivers – guaranteeing the same performances but with significantly reduced consumptions.
B.) FAN DECK
B.1.) Fan Deck (CO series) - Elco is a European leader in this range of products, supplying a wide range of Asynchronous centrifugal fans to fit Fan Coils and small Air Handling units. The thermoplastic range is designed for quiet and durable operations in residential homes and offices.
B.2.) Fan Deck (ECM CO series) – This is Elco’s Energy Saving alternative to the standard series and studied to obtain the highest possible performance and reliability. The energy consumption required is roughly 50% less compared to the equivalent traditional version.
