Belt conveyor scales provide a means of weighing bulk materials while in motion. The obvious advantage over static weighing system is that the flow of material need not to be interrupted.

Other advantages are that using "batch" systems increase production times and, sometimes, there is not enough room in the plant to install static weighing system.
